Car Cruise at the Waterfront

Tuesday, July 15, 2014 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The Grand Prix’s Waterfront Car Cruise has grown in popularity every year since it was moved to the Waterfront in 2001. Each year you can see more and more different and unique cars. Located in the parking lot area between Steak ‘n Shake and First Commonwealth Bank along East Waterfront Drive it’s one of the largest specialty cruises in Pittsburgh. Located a few miles from Schenley Park it’s a perfect warm-up for the vintage races on the upcoming weekend. A special thanks goes out to the new Waterfront owners; M&J Wilkow, for underwriting our cruise and supporting our event!

Guardian Storage SolutionsThe PVGP is pleased to have Guardian Storage Solutions as the sponsor of our annual car cruise. Guardian is the premier source for self storage and Mobile Storage products and services in Pittsburgh. We are looking forward to seeing  nearly 750 cars on display at our annual cruise at the Waterfront in Homestead. The car show takes place from 5:00 until 9:00 PM in the parking lot along Waterfront Drive.

For those who are unfamiliar with a cruise – it is basically a large car show open to anyone who wants to show off their ride -that includes old cars, new cars, trucks and motorbikes. You don’t actually cruise around, but upon arrival you park immediately and become part of the show. The PVGP Car Cruise is a fantastic place for auto aficionados, hot rodders, gearheads, car crazy people as well as families to gather for a few hours and enjoy the cars, the people and the stories.

Cost

We ask cruisers to make a $5 donation for our charities; the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. A PVGP Race Program will be given for each donation.

Please contact the Grand Prix’s Cruise event captain Don Privett with any questions about our car cruise.

Cruise Rules
We strive to provide a safe and friendly evening for all and we ask our visitors to abide some simple rules:

  • There is NO saving spaces after 6:00 PM – the event fills up almost every year so saving a spot for a friend creates lots of headaches for our volunteers.
  • Alcoholic beverages or the consumption of such is strictly prohibited on the premises.
  • For Sale signs and solicitation of vehicles is not permitted.
  • NO solicitation of ANY kind except by approved vendors. Click here for information on becoming a vendor.
  • NO burnouts! We appreciate horsepower as much as anyone, but a crowded shopping center parking lot is not the safest place to do this. If you really want to lay down some rubber why not get a competition license and become a vintage racer!
  • Pets are permitted if on a leash and under the control of owner. If in the opinion of the PVGP, a pet presents a danger or nuisance to others, the pet owner and pet will be asked to leave.
