This will be a social distance-friendly drive (a.k.a. Drive for Charity). Bring your face mask and your Mercedes-Benz (or any other vehicle) as we drive from Warrendale to Moraine State Park via the scenic and twisty Franklin Road/State Route 528. Trip mileage is 64 miles and should take 2.5 hours.
Since the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix had to be canceled, the club will be collecting cash donations to give to the PVGP Charities. We are suggesting at least a $10 donation per attendee.
The departure location will be the parking lot at Generoasta Coffee. The address is 901 Warrendale Village Dr, Warrendale, PA 15086. The driver’s meeting is at 9:45 AM and the tour will get on the road promptly at 10:00 AM. Due to the PA DOH and CDC recommendations on social distancing they will be doing things a little different on this drive. First, please spread out around the parking lot so that there is at least one empty space between each car. Second, we will not be stopping at a restaurant when the drive is over. Instead, we will be ending the drive at Moraine State Park, and folks are free to picnic on their own. The chapter has reserved a pavilion for picnicking. Please note that the Park does not allow alcoholic beverages.

Moraine State Park is 16,725 acres, with 1,750 square feet of beach, 71 miles of trails and 42 miles of shoreline. What can you do with all of that space? Hike 38 miles. Ride your horse for 20 miles. Bike seven miles. Mountain bike for six miles. Snowmobile for 26 miles. Have a picnic at one of the park’s 705 picnic tables. Keep your boat on the lake with 542 marina slips and 395 mooring spaces. Each year, over two million boaters, hikers, bikers and swimmers visit Moraine.
The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, unless otherwise posted. Park information, launch permits, cabin information and assistance can be obtained at the park office near the entrance to the South Shore. The office is open year-round, Monday through Friday, 8 AM-4 PM, and weekends during the summer.
