2023 PVGP Passport to Elegance Hangar Party

This high-flying party, presented by UBS Walnut Wealth Management Group was a great success! Guests were part of a unique experience where every detail rivals the most exclusive of world-class charity events.

The party wias Ferrari themed and had a large contingent of Ferrari’s that came to town to celebrate the Marque of the Year. Guests were immersed in the evolution and examples of the rare and interesting automotive and air transportation throughout history in a festive and lavish atmosphere featuring scrumptious passed hors devours, strolling food stations and top-shelf open bars. The evening also included live music, silent and live auctions to raise funds for our charities

A Chance Vought F4U Corsair that served in the U.S. Navy landed to great fanfare. As the featured aircraft it did not disappoint the crowd of 500+. Danny Panoz brought the best of his car collection and fired up his race car!

Cars

You never know which spectacular cars will be featured until you arrive but we can assure you that Eric Zagrocki, Ed Rice, Andy Schor, Amy Beck, Bob Speer, Scott Kerr and Bernie Martin are hard at work locating unique cars for display including a contingent of Ferraris to represent our Marque of the Year.

Featured Aircraft – Corsair
Sponsored through the kindness of Scott Kerr and Maureen Kerr

The Corsair was a carrier-capable fighter aircraft that saw service primarily in World War II and the Korean War.  The Chance Vought F4U Corsair served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, Fleet Air Arm and the Royal New Zealand Air Force, as well as the French Navy Aéronavale until the 1960s. It quickly became the most capable carrier-based fighter-bomber of World War II. Some Japanese pilots regarded it as the most formidable American fighter of the war, and the U.S. Navy counted an 11:1 kill ratio with the F4U Corsair.

The aircraft’s distinctive inverted gull-wing design allowed ground clearance for the huge, three-bladed Hamilton Standard Hydromatic propeller, which spanned more than 4 meters (13 feet). The Pratt and Whitney R-2800 radial engine and Hydromatic propeller was the largest and one of the most powerful engine-propeller combinations ever flown on a fighter aircraft.

This particular CAF’s FG-1D “530” is one of the original airframes that launched the Commemorative Air Force. It is not only historically significant, but it is thoroughly ingrained in the CAF’s heritage and has been one of the busiest aircraft in the history of the CAF’s stable.

Tickets

Single Tickets: $395 each
4 – 7 Tickets: $350 each
8 or more Tickets: $295 each

The party starts at 6:00 and runs until 10 PM. Ample parking is available at the Airport and it’s easy to find off of Route 8. All food and drink are included with your ticket and there will be an auction to help raise additional funds for our charities.

“I love the beauty of vintage cars, especially ones from the ’50s and ’60; and this event easily rivals the one out in California’s Monterey Bay.”
–  BOBBY RAHAL, Indianapolis 500 winning race driver and special guest at the inaugural Passport to Elegance party.
