The 3 Rivers Ford Model A Restorers Club Raises $465 on August 29 Red Belt Tour!

Longtime PVGP volunteers Cathy and Jack Dernorsek along with members of the local Model A Club took to the roads last weekend to drive their Model A’s and raise funds for the PVGP charities. They were blessed with a beautiful, sundrenched, blue skies on Saturday, August 29 as 10 Model A’s and several modern cars in attendance, with a full 25 happy people.

Two groups converged, from the west, Chuck and Mimi, Mike and Cookie, Frank and Bobbi, Bob and Char, Jim and Jan, Ed and Dolores and Dave and Patti.  From the east, Jack and Cathy, Bob and Kathy, Frank and Ginny, Chuck and Helene, John and his son Zack, and finally Don.

They met just off the Red Belt at the Breakneck Tavern in Mars, PA. After a nice meal, the groups went back their separate directions for an ice cream stop and then home.  All in all, a great day. And there are more Belts to explore someday!

They asked for donations from each car for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix charities, which are the Autism Society and Merakey Allegheny Valley School and a total of $465 was collected. All of it will go directly through the PVGP to those charities.

The 3 Rivers Model A Club is looking forward to Bill and Valerie Back’s Que Creek Mine Tour and the Derry Railroad Days Parade on September 19th.  Which is also International Drive Your Model A Day.  The club will be passing out the commemorative patches to those who attend in their Model A.

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix greatly appreciates the efforts of our car club partners to stay active and get in their cars to raise funds for our charity partners. This is part of our ongoing “Shifting Gears” initiative in 2020. If your car club is interested in staging and event as part of this effort please contact Bob Speer or Dan DelBianco.
