The Grand Prix’s 10th annual Tune-Up event starts inside Atria’s at PNC Park spills out onto the sidewalks, on Federal Street and across the entire Roberto Clemente (Sixth Street) Bridge towards downtown with over 125 race and show cars on display. It is a spectacular event highlighted by a display of historic and vintage race cars in front of Atria’s and a car show on the bridge.
The best part is that you can be a part of the evening’s show. When you purchase your tickets you can also purchase a reserved space on the bridge for your special car. It beats parking in town and walking across the bridge!
Kate Benz of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review selected it as one of the best parties of 2014 and summed it up best saying “the summer staple underwent a brilliant transformation this year thanks to a decision to move the festivities from its former location Downtown to the area in front of Atria’s at PNC Park on the North Side. There, the streets had been closed off, including the Sixth Street Bridge, much to the delight of a crowd that swelled by the minute.”
Many thanks to our sponsor Metz Lewis Brodman Must O’Keefe, our Tune-Up committee, PVGP volunteers, the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for helping us pit together a grand event. $23,800 was raised for our charities from this single night event!
To help make the move-in easier we have made a few changes this year – all cars parking on the bridge will enter from the downtown side of the 6th Street Bridge and all cars in the Race Car Corral on Federal Street will enter fron the PNC Park side of the Bridge. No cars will be allowed to enter the bridge or Federal Street until 6:00 pm.
Tickets will go on sale in May 2015.
Our Tune-Up event was chosen by the Tribune-Review as one of the best parties of 2014!
This is an exclusive party held in downtown Pittsburgh a few days before our vintage races in Schenley Park. Come meet the racers, see their cars up close and mingle with the fast crowd! Thanks to Atria’s Restaurant and Tavern for hosting our event.
