THE TUNE-UP AT ATRIA’S SPONSORED BY METZ-LEWIS IS ONE OF PITTSBURGH’S BEST PARTIES
Wednesday night of Race Week is time to get tune-up for the weekend’s races in Schenley Park. We have the ideal event to get you ready – the Grand Prix’s 12th annual Tune-Up, sponsored by Metz-Lewis, starts inside Atria’s at PNC Park and spills out onto the sidewalks, on Federal Street and across the entire Roberto Clemente (Sixth Street) Bridge towards downtown with race and show cars on display.
The Tune-Up is a must see event highlighted by a display of historic and vintage race cars in front of Atria’s. The beautiful Pittsburgh skyline enhances the beauty of 150 cars showcased on the Clemente bridge.
The best part is that you can participate in the evening’s car show. When you buy your tickets on-line you can also purchase a reserved space on the bridge to display your special car.
Kate Benz of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review selected it as one of the Best Parties and summed it up best saying “the summer staple underwent a brilliant transformation this year thanks to a decision to move the festivities from its former location Downtown to the area in front of Atria’s at PNC Park on the North Side. There, the streets had been closed off, including the Sixth Street Bridge, much to the delight of a crowd that swelled by the minute.”
Many thanks to our sponsor Metz Lewis Brodman Must O’Keefe, our Tune-Up committee, PVGP volunteers, the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for helping us put together a grand event in 2016. $35,000 was raised for our charities from this single night event!
To help make the move-in easier we have made a few changes this year – all cars parking on the bridge will enter from the downtown side of the 6th Street Bridge and all cars invited into the Race Car Corral on Federal Street will enter from the PNC Park side of the Bridge. No cars will be allowed to enter the 6th Street bridge or Federal Street until 6:00 pm – sorry, no exceptions.
Tickets are $40 per person and include admittance into Atria’s VIP Lounge and two complimentary drinks, a VIP lanyard and $20 in Chinese Auction Tickets. Atria’s is preparing a special menu of racing related appetizers, Grab ‘n Go sandwiches and a Pittsburgh Grill. The entire restaurant at Atria’s is reserved for our event – you must purchase a ticket to enter. This event raises money for charity so you are not able to park on the bridge or the Car Corral or to enter Atria’s restaurant or sidewalk without purchasing tickets. On-line registration ends July 7.
Tickets can be purchased in two different ways:
- Tune-Up Party tickets without parking in the Bridge Car Showcase. Individual tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the door.
- If you wish to participate in the Bridge Car Showcase it is $100 for a reserved parking spot plus you receive 2 tickets to the Tune-Up Party valued at $40 each. For 3 guests it would be $140, 4 guests would be $175 and 5 guests would be $200. On-Line registration is closed so you would need to pay as you enter the Clemente Bridge from downtown and there will be a limited amount of spaces remaining on the bridge.
This is an exclusive party held in downtown Pittsburgh a few days before our vintage races in Schenley Park. Come meet the racers, see their cars up close and mingle with the fast crowd! Thanks to Atria’s Restaurant and Tavern for hosting our event.
