Subaru to Celebrate 50 Years in the US as 2018 PVGP Spotlight Car

May 29, 2018 – Subaru of America, the spotlight car of this year’s Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, will honor its 50th anniversary throughout Race Week. Founded in Philadelphia in 1968, the Subaru of America brand was created around a single car, the Subaru 360. Since then, the automaker has expanded its offerings tenfold; launching countless successful vehicles and becoming one of the country’s most recognizable automotive brands, with record-breaking sales and yearly month-over-month growth.

Over the course of the 10-day festival, Subaru will continue to celebrate this milestone with a variety of activations and displays that pay tribute to the automaker’s most beloved vehicles over the years. This includes a showcase of vintage models from the Subaru museum, as well as a unique Subaru rally display featuring an authentic team Subaru WRX STI competition car and a customized Subaru Rally Team USA trailer for festival attendees to enjoy.

In addition to honoring the past, Subaru of America will also highlight its present and future with a display of its current line-up, including the Ascent, Impreza, Legacy, Crosstrek, Forester and Outback, as well as two current generation special edition vehicles. The all-new 3-row Subaru Ascent debuted last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show and is the largest Subaru ever produced. The Ascent expands on the brand’s pedigree of safety and reliability with top-of-the-line features, like Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, standard on every trim level and a spacious, comfortable interior that seats up to eight passengers.

Attendees are invited to visit the Subaru display at Schenley Park to view the interactive displays, learn more about the vehicles and brand’s history, and enjoy giveaways of Subaru-branded gear. Also, in keeping with the automaker’s spirit of supporting good causes and positively impacting local communities, Subaru of America will donate $1, for every opt-in received at the event, to Allegheny Valley School, as part of the Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment effort.

Subaru of America has been involved with the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix since 2002, and this is the first year Subaru of America is participating as the spotlight show. Register and Details
