2012 PVGP Racer Entry Form - PDF         Pay On-Line with Credit Card

Greetings Racers,

BeaveRun is under new ownership and will begin the 2012 racing season as Pittsburgh International Race Complex, or PittRace for short. Visit them at www.pittrace.com

Now entering its 9th year the PVGP Historic Races have grown into a race weekend that stands on its own as a vintage race destination- we are proud that is serves as the kick-off event for our 10 day festival of races, car shows and motorsport events.

The PVGP is grateful to the VRG and its members for sanctioning and organizing the races since its inception. They do a tremendous job staging the races and raising money for our charities.

We will use a dual entry form for both race weekends - allowing entrants to take advantage of several discounts. For those planning to leave their rigs we will store them at the track for free during the week. There will also be no additional camping charge if you are staying overnight. The Saturday dinner is now included for all drivers, you can purchase additional tickets for your crew.

MG will be the featured marque as we celebrate our 30th anniversary.
We are looking forward to 2012 and hope that you plan to join us for both races and all of the exciting activities scheduled in between. The PVGP is excited to open our 30th annual event with our Historic Race Weekend at Pittsburgh International Race Complex.

Access to the facility will be available on Thursday July 12 – Gates will open for competitors at 5:00 PM. There have been different times posted, but the official earliest time is 5:00 PM. All arrivals earlier than 5:00PM will be held at the gate.

There is race rig storage available at the track for anyone registered for both events and would like to leave their trailer the week in between. There is no cost to competitors, it is being paid for by the PVGP. Access to pick up stored trailers is weekdays from 8:00 AM thru 10:00 PM.

One more quick note – this year there will be a canopy at the base of the timing tower with coffee and doughnuts for all drivers and workers. This is the same location as your driver's meeting, available at 7:00 AM Saturday and 7:30 AM Sunday.

Any Vintage or Historic Race car through 1972 will be eligible to race. Most cars will fall under VRG rules and regulations. If you are a VRG member please check out their website or contact the VRG event Race Chair Mark Palmer at mgvrmark@hotmail.com or Ralph Steinberg at ralph@cloverleaf-auto.com

Most of us have raced at both big and small vintage events and many of us have driven at some very historic places. Watkins Glen, Bridgehampton, Lime Rock, Monterey, Sebring, but in today's world while racing at these tracks is fun and perhaps lets us believe we are Phil Hill, Dan Gurney, Sterling Moss or whomever was your racing hero, it is still just one more vintage race. What sets the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix apart from any other vintage race is what we accomplish while we race. We have helped raise over $2.95 million dollars for two very worthwhile charities: the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. Both of these charities work with individuals that really need our help.

All vintage & historic cars meeting VRG specifications from pre-war to 1972 are invited to race to the PVGP Historic Races. If you own a car built after 1972 (that is not a continuation car, MGB, TR6, Nissan 240Z, etc) and believe you and your car would fit in with us please contact VRG directly and we will see.

Come out and race for two days with some great people and some great cars at a very safe and fun course and at the same time help us help others right here at home. And unlike so many other events that claim that your money will go to help this or that charity you know it will here.

We are looking forward to another great year in 2012!

Candy's Rides
Named in honor of Candy Stephani, wife of Ralph Steinberg, who passed away in 2011. Candy took on cancer and gave it a valiant fight, much the way she approached every challenge. We will miss her smiling face, especially during the charity rides that she so enthusiastically founded.

Each day at lunchtime at BeaveRun our generous racers offer rides to spectators. All donations go directly to our charities: the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. Please contact Keith Lawrence or Ralph Steinberg if you are willing to drive your car either day. It fun and helps our charities!

Directions
From Pittsburgh, take the PA Turnpike west to Exit 13 Ellwood City/Beaver Falls. Go north on Route 18 for 2.6 miles and turn left into the track. Drive time from downtown Pittsburgh is 50 minutes.

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association is a federally registered 501c (3) non-profit organization with a mission to hold a world-class vintage automotive race event for charity. Since 1983 this volunteer-driven event has raised over $2.75 million to benefit autistic and developmentally disabled individuals through the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix remains our country's largest vintage race event and the only one run on city streets.
