The Steel Cities Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will host a Solo II event (Autocross) in conjunction with the 2009 PVGP during our Historic Races at BeaveRun
Registration is open from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM and the first car is off at 10:00 AM. Runs will continue through the day, wrapping up around 5 PM. SCCA Solo events are all about a driver's ability to accurately and precisely maneuver around a pylon-marked course in the fastest time possible. Courses are designed such that the top speed achieved is similar to what cars reach on everyday roads, and cars run one at a time, with minimal chances of accidents. Safety, both for the driver and the car, has a high emphasis, but that doesn't mean you're not pushing your car to the limits, so come join us and test your car control ability! Cars are classed by various factors, including horsepower, suspension, and aftermarket modifications - so you will be competing against similar vehicles.
The event will be held on the Vehicle Dynamics Area (VDA) at BeaveRun. Your car will have to pass a technical inspection, and helmets (Snell 90 or better) are required (we have a few loaner helmets available). When you aren't driving the course, you will either be working the course or resting (a good chance to view the Vintage races on the North Course!).
Cost
The 2 day event fee is only $75.00 for both SCCA members and non-members - which includes weekend entrance into BeaveRun, autocross entry fee, T-Shirt, trophy eligibility, and dinner Saturday night. Single day pricing is also available. Proceeds from the event will be donated to PVGP charities.
Garages
For the serious Autocrosser we have garages available for $250 for the entire weekend.
