If you work Downtown, Wednesday of Race Week is a great day to take a long lunch break. Nestled among the skyscrapers and Port Authority buses, several of downtown’s most prominent addresses open their courtyards for a sparkling preview of the weekend’s shows.
In 2007 we celebrated our 25th year with a parade lap of the city featuring 25 race and show cars. We look forward to making this an annual rite. The parade will be staged from General Robinson Street, near Heinz Field. Please arrive as close as possible to 9:00 to ensure your space in the parade.
Parade Stages: 9:00 – 10:00 AM
Parade Departs: 10:30 AM
Cars Displayed: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
The Parade Lap enters the city at 10:30 AM and thunders through the streets, dropping off cars at three locations:
- US Steel Building Plaza
- Market Square
- PPG Place
Originally developed as a "lunch-time" show, this event seems to get started just after the morning rush hour and lasts until mid-afternoon.
Event is free to the public, but space is limited for show cars, if you are interested in participating in the parade and showing your car afterward please contact the captains:
Many thanks to the City of Pittsburgh and the plazas that host our car shows - we appreciate their generosity.
After the car show join us for the PVGP Tune-Up at Bossa Nova from 6:00 9:00 PM. There will be a Happy Hour, appetizers an a display of race cars.
